A Study on Enhancement of Element Techniques and Preparation of EAP for Storm Surge on Harbor Zones

Abstract
"Disaster information maps on major harbor zones located in the west coast were prepared in order to establish of an emergency action plan (EAP) for storm surge inundation. In which, estimated maximum inundating area and height are included to mitigate and prevent damages from surge. To improve simulation reliability, efforts on enhancement of storm surge simulation such as asymmetric wind vortex, consideration of land surface canopy were intensively studied by introducing recent techniques in ADCIRC model. In disaster information maps, primary shelters and contact points of emergency facilities are listed and illustrated. It could be effectively applied to establish of disaster preventing plans on storm surge damages to lives, property and vulnerable facilities for harbor zones."
