Abstract
"Under the worldwide trend of increasing coastal disaster such as strom surge and tsunami, it is considered as being essential to develop a management system for reducing damages by the disaster. However, the management system is likely to be of no use without residents’ awareness for the system. According to the result from a survey in previous research, there were few people to initiate evacuation even after disaster alert, because the most resident had not any previous education experience responding to such disaster. Hence, emphasis should be upon the activity to understand consciousness for disaster prior to build the management system. Because such activities like survey play an important role to enhance people’s attention as well as awareness on disaster. At the same time, it can give ideas and feedbacks on current and/or future countermeasures for disaster management in advance."
