Abstract |
The hydrodynamic performance of a buoyant Oscillating Water Column (OWC) wave energy device under wave environment and geometric parameters was tested experimentally in a wave flume. The magnitude of free surface elevations inside the chamber was measured using digital camera, and analyzed by digital image processing technique and outlier processing technology. As a result of hydrodynamic analysis in the air chamber due to the influence of the cylinder and skirt length of the wave energy device, the first conversion efficiency of the floating OWC wave energy converter was measured from 29.26% to 75.33%. Therefore, in order to calculate the optimal shape parameters of the wave energy device, the lengths of various cylinders and skirts and wave conditions should be considered. |
