Abstract
The damage in according to increased frequency of the earthquake and its intensity is continuously increasing around the world. Therefore, the damage scale has also become very large. The tsunami hazard area was selected over the historical tsunami damages analysis, and systematic corresponding plan of which is needed to minimize tsunami damage. For purpose of calculating detailed inundation area on the epicenter and magnitude, we have developed coastal topography using highresolution topographic data such as rivers and roads. The tsunami simulation modeling for Okushiri in 1993 and Akita in 1983 were verified using water surface elevation of tidal station at Sokcho, Mukho and Pohang. The result verification of the surge elevation and arrival time are in good agreement. The forecasting results of tsunami modelling of Hypothetical tsunami in intensity from 7.5 to 9.0 was developed as a database. Also, Tsunami Disaster Response System was developed in order to minimize the tsunami damage in coastal area.
